The 2003 Petrus was born in a difficult vintage for Pomerol
There is the same superb breadth to the rich
Yet for all of the intensity and power this remains impeccably wellbalanced on the hugely long and saline-infused finale
Like the Cazetiers this is definitely going to require several years of bottle age to round off the mildly rustic tannins
This is made up of 78% Cabernet from Agrelo and Uco
Talley, Pinot Noir Rincon other_regions The 2003 Petrus was bornThe 2019 Pinot Noir Rincon Vineyard shows slightly more fruit on the nose and is a softer, more up front wine. Framboise, flowers, salty sea breeze, and spicy notes all define the nose, and its fresh and lively on the palate, with medium bodied richness. I like it today, yet I suspect it will be even better with a year or two in bottle and should drink brilliantly through 2031.
