Jean Michel Guillon, Gevrey Chambertin Champonnets Vintage:2014 There is slightly more depthModerate reduction is enough to dominate the fruit today but there is very good freshness and verve to the big bodied, bold and robust flavors that are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that does a fine job of buffering the very firm tannic spine shaping the strikingly complex and persistent finale. Champonnets is always better in very warm and or hot vintages and 2018 is a fine example of that.
